Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter is an American producer and actress who has been recognized by her highly commendable performances in movies such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. Holly Hunter was awarded numerous prizes which included an Oscar for her movie Piano. She started her career as an actress on Broadway as well as Off Broadway. Since her childhood, she performed Helen Keller in a play in the fifth grade. The actress was deaf in one ear following a bout of mumps but did not permit this to deter her determination to become an actress. At college, she was a theatre student and later moved from Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania, to New York City in pursuit of her dream. Hunter was stuck in an elevator with the playwright Beth Henley when she met her. Together they created Broadway Crimes of the Heart that marked the debut of Hunter on Broadway. The first time she appeared in a film was when she moved from Los Angeles. In the years since, she has been in numerous films and TV movies and series over a career spanning more than three decades. Holly Hunter received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and she also received an award called the Women in Film Lucy Award.
